Additional requirements:

  • have a relevant honours degree, preferably with experience in teaching I/GCSE, AS/A-levels and/or IB.
  • be a native English speaker (or have near native fluency, with the exception of language teachers who should nevertheless be able to communicate effectively in English)
  • ability to teach a second subject to lower year groups an advantage

Job Description

  • Contact schools to discuss families and place availability
  • Schedule school visits and accompany families on these visits if requested

  • Write two articles per month on school related issues in Shanghai
  • Write education related articles for The Unique Asia Schools Guide (published annually by ITS Education Asia)

Job: Media Communications Officer [Cebu office]


ITS Education Asia provides learning, counselling and consulting services through its schools, online learning platform and consultancy companies.

Established in Hong Kong in 2005, we operate two flexible learning schools in Hong Kong which are accredited by both the Hong Kong government and a variety of international education organisations. We have small offices in Singapore and the UK. Our client base is increasingly global.

As we expand, especially in the online market, we are looking to employ a media & communications officer. In the early phase the role is that of media analyst and junior administrator, gradually developing to a more senior press, marketing and social media manager.

The appropriate person will operate in the Cebu office of our IT partners under management from and reporting to Hong Kong. Training and orientation will be given in Hong Kong. We will be looking for the potential to develop not only through the job phases but also into a team leader as we look to expand the number of people working in this area.


Phase 1

  • Enter all dates into the calendar for different schools/countries
  • Update school directory for other locations that are needed / update google maps with these school locations
  • Learn how to update things on the website 
  • Put up school guide articles on website
  • Check comments on Blog articles and moderate
  • Maintain the calendar and check it for updates
  • Check website for out of date things or things which are needed and have not been added ie course dates
  • Check comments on Blog articles and moderate for errors
  • Enhance and put up / format online resources on website for online school as supplied by teachers
  • Monitor rival websites for news/information other relevant stuff and alert ITS management when something is of importance/significance

Phase 2

  • Improve the overall indexation and presentation of ITS article section
  • Assist with publishing efforts in the school guide
  • Investigate other social media options that ITS can use to help promote its materials
  • Check and comment of Facebook (ours and others where appropriate)
  • Check forums for relevant questions and write answers where appropriate
  • Alert ITS when something is in news that someone at ITS should comment on
  • Investigate how other educational sites are using social media and suggest when appropriate how ITS can incorporate this into our social media strategy
  • Assist with publishing efforts in teaching materials for online courses 
  • Liaise with relevant managers at weekly online meeting at ITS

Phase 3

  • Check news alerts and write 1 or 2 press releases per week for our blog
  • Check news alerts and write 1 or 2 press releases per week for other media sources
  • Draft responses to forum/facebook queries for public and private message consumption
  • Draft organizational responses to eminent changes in education systems
  • Maintain calendar and pricing of third party advertising opportunities / chase and find dates/prices etc 

Required knowledge, skills and ability:


Bachelor degree or above in Marketing, Journalism or other relevant field


At least 2 years working in press, media, PR, social media, marketing or other relevant area

Must possess strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
Must have strong references

5 day work week, no shift work
Health insurance included

Vocational trainers/teachers/instructors

ITS is keen to work with educators who can offer instruction in vocational and/or professional areas. Examples include accountancy, book-keeping, photography, software, and art. The list is extremely long. We get many queries for these type of courses and would like to be able to cater to this need. If you are interested please contact us to discuss the possibilities. We are happy to enter into revenue sharing agreements which allow you to develop the course as your own business.
