Exams in 2021 could face disruption too

By ITS Education Asia

We have seen the cancellation of many exams this academic year including the GCE & International A levels IGCSE/GCSE and the IB.  This article from the Telegraph is reporting that contingency plans are being drawn up in case the pandemic causes further disruptions to exams in the next academic year.

Coronavirus is expected to disrupt next year’s summer exams, a teaching union has warned, as it emerged the regulator is considering delays and a continuation of teacher assessment.

There are also claims the plans under consideration include pushing assessments from May to as late as July and continuing the emergency marking system of teachers issuing grades based on individual student progress throughout the year, as well as any mock examination results returned in November and March.

The regulator is expected to provide further information on these possible measures in the coming weeks. However, one teachers’ union warned last night it is “clear” the impact of Covid-19 will continue well into the next academic year, and “all options” for awarding next year’s exams should be considered.

One feels for all the students, parents and teachers that are being impacted by the effect of the pandemic on children’s education.  Please contact us for a free consultation if you wish to see how we can help ensure minimum disruption to your A levels and IGCSE if you study at ITS - we can give grades or enrol you in exams.
