Will Feuer from CNCBC reports that Executive Director of the United Nation Children’s fund predicts that “At least 24 million children are projected to drop out of school due to Covid-19,”. Her concern was that the longer children remained out of school, the less likely they are to return. Hence the urging for governments to prioritize reopening schools when restrictions are lifted. UNESCO, UNICEF and the WHO jointly published a 10-page document that outlines guidelines to reopen and operate schools during the pandemic.
