What do I enjoy most about tutoring?😁
The most enjoyable part of tutoring is, of course, seeing your students progress. However, more than that, I would love my student being curious, bombarding me with questions.
It would be great if my student can follow traditional methods, but more so if they could be able to love what they are learning, and being innovative alongside.
Another thing that I enjoy is my preparation work. There is no better feeling than attending the lesson being fully prepared, with confidence and complexion.
My Strengths as Tutor💪
Teaching is a hand in hand process, it not only benefits the receiver, but the giver as well.
At times, students become emotional when it comes to studies, having to deal with those emotions is one of my biggest strength. At an early stage in my life, I had to travel quite much due to the work situation of my father. I thought that would affect my studies, but in return, I was exposed to cultures and traditions, which made me stronger emotionally, and I could deal with my situation. I believe, being able to emotionally control myself gives me an edge to understand and help others as a tutor.
My ability to teach children with the help of scenarios and stories tells me that the sky is my limit when it comes to tutoring. The fact that children love hearing stories gives me the advantage in utilizing my potential.
Most important things I can do for a student🏅
A couple of important things that a tutor can do for a student are, following their pace, as in putting themselves in students' shoes, responding to student as soon as they possess a query, make sure the students do their part, as in hearing their side of story about their learning experiences, and not eager to wrap up the lesson by the hour.
A tutor finishing up the lesson speedily is like a star-nosed mole satisfying its appetite, the process basically is not worthwhile. Same process goes with teaching fast, students tend to feel confused and that affects their mental capacity to continue learning.
Before being able to teach a student, a tutor must understand how their student thinks, how they take up learning. Teaching a student who is not internally motivated makes it harder for both the tutor and student to do their tasks. Therefore, a tutor must know how their student feels, thinks, and then proceed to teach the student with passion.

About Me
Since my childhood, I have been enjoying various sports. I have had passion for sprinting starting in my high school life. I have been a quick learner, and to be honest, my communication and social skills made it even easier for me to reach my full potential. It is a pity I could not continue in sports, due to increased requirements in academia, I had to focus on studies. Nevertheless, that did not stop my love for sports. I continue to learn through online means, constantly practice whenever I see a track, or even when I go out for a jog.
In life, I have learnt to love anything that I give my time to, whether it be something of my interest or something completely new to me. I have always admired my ability to work hard, and to teach students who might have rough backgrounds, students who have ambition to learn further, or even those who have a slow momentum in learning. My attempts have always been appreciated, and I increasingly upscale my efforts when it comes to work, responsibilities, aspirations, and family life.
Another field that is of my interest, particularly on the aesthetic/arts side, is acting. I have participated in Improv Festivals (using improvisational skills to carry on acts). One in particular that I remember was held in Wah Yan College Kowloon. Mingling with kids half my age and tutors not a day older than me, I realized that I could get along with children and even the mentors fairly well.
In future, I would love to continue my passion for both sports and acting, whether it be as a form of hobby.
Experience
1-2
Being the eldest in my family, I took the challenge to lend a helping hand to my younger siblings with their school assignments at a very young age. To be entirely honest, I never took it as 'extra work' or 'burden', rather, I took the opportunity to polish my own concepts and teaching methods. It just occurred to me that I was learning more.
I had the opportunity to be a student mentor, or a tutor, at my high school for over a year. The students were junior form incoming and needed help completing their assignments or studying for their tests. It reminded me of my young ages and how I did not have the privilege to study with a tutor, which gave me a motivation and purpose to teach the students with complete intensity.
