THE AMERICAN SCHOOL HONG KONG (ASHK) OPENING CEREMONY

A very impressive Ceremony took place on Friday 19 May, 2017 the American School Hong Kong (ASHK), celebrated the successful Grand Opening Ceremony for its non-profit, college preparatory international school in Tai Po. The entertainment by the students was extremely impressive. A lot of hard work and talent was exhibited on the day. We were delighted to be part of such an event.

ASHK opened in September 2016 for Kindergarten to Grade 6 students and Middle and High school students are now enrolling for the 2017 and 2018 school years. ASHK will launch the gold standard International Baccalaureate (IB) programme in 2018.

The original old school site granted by the Education Bureau, has been totally redesigned and refurbished to match the 21^st century learning that ASHK espouses. Built over six floors, ASHK will accommodate 1000 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 when at full capacity. Modern facilities support the delivery of the Foundation Curriculum from the US and the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) approach to learning. ASHK provides an American education taught by qualified and carefully selected North American teachers who inspire, motivate and challenge students to achieve excellence.

The ceremony was attended by ASHK students, parents and staff and esteemed guests from Esol, the American Consulate, the EDB and the international school community in Hong Kong.
