The Principal of one of the UK’s leading independent schools has criticised Brexit from a different angle. The BBC reports that the head of Gordonstoun is concerned that the way in which people are arguing over the various issues sets a terrible example for children who are witnessing entrenched views, a refusal to listen to others and behaviour towards those who are the public face of the process which is essentially abusive.
The UK has always been one of the world’s leaders in teaching debating to youngsters but it seems those traditions have been thrown out along with a lot of other principles in the whole Brexit fiasco.
