Half of parents 'want mobile phones banned in schools'

By ITS Education Asia

Chalkface has been following a series of articles from different parts of the world in relation to banning mobile phones in schools. Last week Chalkface referenced an article in Australia discussing whether mobile phones should be banned in schools Australia wide. This week Chalkface draws attention to this article from the UK that reports almost 50% of parents in the UK would like to see mobile phones banned at schools.

The article goes on to report almost 1 in 8 schools in the UK have already banned mobile phones in their schools. The driving force behind the move to ban phones in school is an attempt to cut down on cyber bullying.

What do you think? Should Hong Kong move to ban mobile phones in schools?
