Recently, a congressman in Lok Sabha, India, made a comment that sports should be made compulsory in school education. Underlining that there is a need to develop a culture of physical fitness, he stated the lack of importance placed on sports is perhaps one of the reasons that India does not win as many medals in international sports events, especially the Olympics.
