The straight-A Hong Kong student who thinks schools can be at the forefront of raising environmental awareness

By ITS Education Asia

Here is an uplifting article about a young Hong Kong high achiever seeking to make a difference.

Eloise Fan, 17, who studies at the Canadian International School, got a full score of 45 in this year’s International Baccalaureate. Fan, who is going to study at the school of environment, resources and sustainability at the University of Waterloo in Canada, is determined to improve the state of the environment by focusing on education at schools.

She believes raising environmental awareness in young people is the best way to bring about real change. “It is hard to change the minds of policymakers, so the best places to bring about change are schools, as they are a fundamental part of our society.”
